Okay, so i have been working hard on this costume.. didn't have a pattern or anything to go on.. but i tried!
Basically what it is, is two cones (like witch hat cones) but the bottom half has a neck.. hole.. thing? it was kind of complicated.. i ended up having to cut the whole damn thing out of paper and taping it together to see if it works
Neat, yes? I have to add the embroidery on the mouth.. and some details on the cape-collar thing.. & I may shorten the bottom cone.. i think its a little long... ;] I'll have to see once i get it on Daniel.
The only problem is the eyes. I bought a sheer fabric thinking it would be fairly easy to see out of.. and BOY WAS I WRONG. before I put the eyes on, the grey was fairly easy to see out of.. kind of blurry.. i mean, you couldn't watch TV with it.. and I can't wear my glasses w/ the costume, but easy enough.. but when i put the eyes on.. i realized that you cant see ANYTHING out of it. :/ so now i'm on a mission to find a more sheer fabric.. although i have no idea what i'm going to use.
I need some ideas for a sheer white fabric. i'm thinking i may try and use old white tights.. they're pretty sheer, right? RIGHT?! i'm sure i have something white that is see through somewhere.. if all else fails, i can always add small eye holes somewhere. Don't really know yet. its a serious work in progress, and i don't have that long until halloween. did i mention i have 3 more costumes to make??? Matthew's Pyramid Head apron-thing, Mom's Big Bad Wolf costume, & Tom's Little Red Riding Hood outfit. I AM GETTING NERVOUS. deadlines deadlines deadlines. guess i know what i'm doing this week. :/ my goal is to get them all done before the end of the week. <3
