i can't help it. this little yellow dude is just adorable.
plus its fun to say pika pika pika over and over again. ^_^
so it all started out with a halloween costume, which i plan on at least starting tonight... but then i keep getting sidetracked with other adorable things.
so i had a pattern for creating a kitty plushie..and i thought.. why not turn it into a pikachu?! i had a bunch of leftover yellow fleece from my hat (i love fabric remnants, you always end up with more than you thought.
so without further ado, here is the pika-creation of the day. he is completely sewn by hand.. which, on a side note.. i forgot how hard it was to sew by hand.. in high school i didn't have a good sewing machine (it broke :[) so everything i made was done by hand.. O.O;;;;;
i mean, its nice when you're working with smaller things, but jeeze.. i used to do huge projects by hand.. including an extra-long skirt with snake details when i was medusa for halloween.. i was crazy.
thats my little dude!! :]]]]]]] his cheeks i just drew on with marker.. he's just a practice, so i can get the feel of a pikachu.. :]] i know the back of his tail is supposed to be brown, but i didn't have a lot of brown fabric.. i need to save it for my costume... so in retrospect, i suppose i should've made a pichu instead... :/
on another side note, i realize that i make "practice creations" way too often.. i guess its because i dont think my work is very good.. i guess its my way of covering up.. "oh he's just a practice."
now that i understand the pattern, i'm going to work on other pokemon/animals. ;]] i'm having a hard time deciding who my favorite pokemon is... its really not pikachu... he's just too adorable not to craft :]]~
anway, now i need to stop procrastinating/chickening out and work on this hoodie. i'm going to take step by step pictures so that i can remember how the hell i did it.. and also, if someone else wants to know how to do it.. i can always show them my blog :]] there are tons of hoodie tutorials out there, but some of them are pretty confusing :///
anyway.. i don't remember where i found the kitty pattern that i used to make pikachu.. it was saved on my computer.. and who knows how long ago i put it there!! its a pretty simple pattern... i think i'll make a kitty next. :]]~
OKAY back to the hoodie.... *scared*
